Opulence91- April: The Spring Hosting Edit

April: The Spring Hosting Edit

My Seasonal Charcuterie Shopping List by Galore Grazing

There’s something about spring that makes me want to slow down, open a bottle, and create something beautiful. This edit is your guide to building a fresh, gorgeous, charcuterie board that feels effortless but looks like you planned every detail. Think light and seasonal without overcomplicating it.

Everything here is designed to help you curate a board that’s balanced, visually stunning, and perfect for hosting. Pair it all with chilled prosecco or a crisp (slightly sweet) rosé, and you’re set. Majority of these items are found at Trader Joes (unless otherwise noted) and everything is gluten free

 🧀 Cheeses (Pick 2–3)

A good board is all about contrast—creamy, firm, mild, and bold.

  • Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah

  • Chèvre with Honey (Goat’s Milk Cheese)

  • Chèvre with Fine Herbs (Goat’s Milk Cheese)

  • 6-Month Aged Manchego (Sheep's Milk cheese)

  • Italian Truffle Cheese – earthy, aromatic, and undeniably luxe

For a little heat:

  • Cheddar with Scotch Bonnet Chili Peppers – a sweet heat cheddar with a slightly creamy texture

  Pair with: fig jam or honey,

  • Jalapeño Havarti (Found at Aldi) – creamy, buttery, with a mild kick (your safer, crowd-pleasing option)

  Pair with: salami, strawberries

🍓 Fruit (Seasonal & Fresh)

Spring boards should feel bright, juicy, and colorful.

  • Green grapes (fresh, crisp, and perfect for spring styling)

  •  Strawberries

  •  Blueberries

  • Blackberries (best in late spring, but a beautiful addition when available)

🌾 Crackers (Gluten-Free Friendly)

Your base should complement, not compete.

  • Gluten-Free Cranberry Raisin Toast – perfect with goat cheese

  • Gluten-Free Savory Thin Rice Crackers – neutral, crisp, and goes with everything

🍯 Add-Ons (The Details That Make It Feel Luxe)

This is where your board becomes an experience.

* Fig jam

* Caramel coffee almonds

* Dried cherries

* Sweet picante peppers with creamy cheese filling

* Pitted amarena cherries in syrup

* Cornichons

* Fresh rosemary or thyme for a pretty garnish

* Chocolates (I usually go for something individually wrapped to keep them dry and avoid chocolate melting all over the board)

🥩 Meats (Light & Refined)

Spring charcuterie leans lighter—thinly sliced and delicate meat options are best. Let the fruit and cheese lead; the meats are there to support.

  • Prosciutto – delicate, salty, and perfect with fruit or jam

  • Italian Dry Salami (mild or genoa) – easy, classic, crowd-pleasing

Non-Pork Option:

  • Bresaola (beef) – thinly sliced, slightly smoky, and subtly salty

    *Note:* Sometimes difficult to find at Trader Joe’s—look for it at specialty grocers or Italian markets if you can't find it there.

✨ How to Bring It All Together

Build your board with balance in mind:

* Start with your largest items first (meats, cheese, and crackers)

* Layer in fruit for color and freshness

* Add meats in soft folds, ribbons, or roses

* Fill in with add ons and small bites

* Finish with jams, nuts, chocolates, and little details that make it feel abundant

🥂 The Finishing Touch

Pair with chilled Prosecco or a glass of rosé, and you have everything you need for a spring gathering that feels elevated, intentional, and easy.
